Creating and upgrading Livestock Value Chains
Our experts are located in Hanoi & Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) and in Thailand. Their work consists of helping farmers to start or to upgrade animal production and processing according to market demand.
- Poultry Production: Helping small and medium-scale farmers to engage into the production of free-range chicken meat and eggs in northern and southern Vietnam (see the STOP AI project's website at www.naturallyvietnam.com) and in western Thailand (the SAP project).
- Pig Production: Helping small-scale farmers to engage into the production of piglets in northern Vietnam (the BRESIAL project www.bresial.org) and in western Thailand (the SAP project naturallysangkhlaburi.com).
Depending on future market assessment in the above countries and elsewhere, and based on the long-term experience of our experts, new value chains are expected to commence in the near future. This work will focus on poultry (chicken, duck, quail turkey, etc) and pigs and, in addition to current interests, both large and small ruminant production systems.
