In July 2007, M. Patrice Gautier (a French veterinarian based in Vietnam since 2000) and Mrs. Pham Thi Tuyet Mai (Vietnamese - Manager of a veterinary practice for companion animals) created the consulting business ASVELIS in Hanoi, Vietnam. The objective of this new company was and remains the development of existing and new types of services that enhance the function, efficiency and outcomes of farm animal and companion animal sectors for the benefit of animal and public health. ASVELIS is the acronym for Asian (AS) Veterinary (VE) & Livestock (LI) Services (S). The company’s range of activities relates to both veterinary work (accommodating the breadth of expertise provided by veterinarians from advising animal owners about animal production, health and welfare to ensuring the safety of products of animal-origin) and to most of the elements of livestock supply chains (genetic, farm management, processing, marketing etc.). ASVELIS has a primary focus in Asia with significant experience across South East Asia. The number of ASVELIS full-time collaborators has climbed every year from 6 in 2007 to 12 in 2008 and 24 in 2009 and includes Vietnamese, Thai, Burmese and European nationalities. In addition, a number of experts (from South East Asia, Europe, Australia, USA, Canada and other countries) are supporting us with their skills and experiences giving us access to a higher level of specialization. In 2009, the core business of ASVELIS includes: - A veterinary hospital for companion animals in Hanoi city
- A veterinary practice for farm animals near Hanoi international airport
- The implementation of projects for the development of the poultry and the pig sectors in Vietnam & Thailand
- Regular short-term expert missions on animal diseases, food safety and organization of veterinary services for a variety of organizations throughout South East Asia and elsewhere
The services of ASVELIS have already led to significant benefits to many pet owners and livestock farmers (small, medium and large scale), pharmaceutical companies, animal feed companies, manufacturers of equipment, government agencies, meat processors, food retailers, catering sector, NGOs, bilateral and multinational donors, international organizations, academic and research institutions etc. To find out more about ASVELIS and how we can help you, please send an email to
